Checks
Check the installation, wiring and connections for damage
at regular intervals. The drive units must be able to move
freely and be returned automatically to the safe idle position
when they are disengaged. If this is not the case, check the
drive units for dirt or corrosion on their guides and clean
them if necessary to ensure they can move properly.
Before use, check that all motors respond properly to the
commands from the remote control.
Check the tyre pressure and that the drive rollers have the
correct gap to the tyres when disengaged. This is 20 +/- 1 mm.
If the gap is larger, have it corrected by a specialist shop.
Every time tyres are replaced, check the gap between the
Mover and the tyres and, if necessary, have it adjusted by a
specialist workshop.
If the gap between the drive rollers and tyres is too
large or if the tyre pressure is too low, there is a risk
that the drive rollers will not engage completely with the right
pressure which could cause considerable property damage
and / or injury due to sliding drive rollers.
At least every 2 years have an expert check that there is
no rust on the MoverXT / XT2, that the attachments are
still firmly attached and that all safety-relevant parts are
undamaged.
Emergency disengagement
If the caravan battery is discharged to the extent that electri-
cal disengagement no longer works or a defect is present, the
drive rollers can also be disengaged manually.
Before manual disengagement, secure both wheels of
the caravan to stop it rolling. Engage the parking brake
and put wedges under both wheels. If this is not observed,
there is a risk of injury and property damage.
Prise out the plastic cap (m) at the rear end of the cover using
a screwdriver. Attach the socket spanner (WAF 7 – included in
scope of delivery) to the hex bolt and disengage the drive unit
by rotating clockwise. Repeat procedure at opposite side.

Once the battery has been charged or the fault remedied, the
rollers can be engaged electrically again.
Troubleshooting
Check that the batteries in the remote control are in good
condition.
Check that the 13-pole plug/ adapter of the caravan is
plugged into the safety socket.
Check that the caravan battery is in good condition and is
fully charged. Please note that battery performance can dete-
riorate considerably at cold ambient temperatures.
Check that the fuse in the battery connector cable is in order.
If the fuse is defective, check the connector cable for possible
short circuits.
Coupling to a towing vehicle
The MoverXT / XT2 allows a caravan to be coupled to a tow-
ing vehicle accurately and without jolting. However, this re-
quires care and a degree of practice.
Move the towing vehicle close to the caravan (engage the
parking brake and put it in gear).
In order to position the caravan precisely, operate the control
knob or slide control until the caravan's coupling is located
precisely over the ball coupling on the towing vehicle. Then
couple the caravan to the vehicle by lowering the jockey
wheel in the usual manner.
After coupling the caravan to the towing vehicle, disengage
the drive rollers of the Mover XT / XT2.
To do this, press both buttons (h) for disengaging at the same
time; after approx. 3 seconds (safety delay) the disengaging
process begins.
When disengagement is complete, check on the position indi-
cator that both drive rollers were completely disengaged (refer
to picture above).
After disengaging the Mover XT / XT2, switch it off on the re-
mote control and then unplug the 13-pole plug/ adapter from
the safety socket and plug it into the 13-pole supply socket of
the towing vehicle. Depending on the installation, also discon-
nect the power supply of the Mover XT / XT2 in the caravan
(open battery cut-off switch/ disconnect battery).
Prepare the caravan for towing in the usual way.
Before driving off, make sure that the drive rollers are
completely disengaged. Otherwise there is a risk of
considerable damage to the Mover, caravan and towing
vehicle.
Maintenance
Keep drive units clear of coarse road dirt. When cleaning the
caravan, hose off the MoverXT / XT2 and clean with a soft
brush. Make sure that no stones, twigs etc. are trapped in it.
The control unit does not require servicing. The remote control
must be kept in a dry place.
Do not use a high-pressure cleaner to clean the
Mover XT / XT2.
Clean the Mover XT / XT2 as described above every year (or
before preparing for winter). Do not park the caravan with
engaged drive rollers, otherwise the tyres could be damaged.
To prevent the battery from becoming totally discharged
during long periods of inactivity, it must be disconnected and
then recharged from time to time. Charge the caravan battery
before starting up.
It is extremely easy for you or your caravan dealer to check and
maintain your Mover XT / XT2 during the annual inspection of
your caravan. In case of doubt, contact Truma Service or one
of our authorised service partners (see www.truma.com).
