MATERIAL HANDLING AND BEST PRACTICES
CONNECTING THE MATERIAL CASE
The material case should sit on the right side of the printer, otherwise it will interfere with the door. Loop PTFE lament
guide tubes to the right when installing. Connect the PTFE tube to the material case by gently pushing it into place.
Connect to the printer by gently pushing the other end of the PTFE tube into either the model or support material port.
MATERIAL LOADING
Open material case latch to access material bay.
Place desiccant packs from the spool bag into the material bay
Place model material in the bay and feed material up to the extruder.
Push the end of the material until you feel it being pulled in by the extruder.
LOADING TIPS
Before loading your materials it is important to remove approximately 6 inches of the material (anything that is bent or
crimped) from the spool before inserting it into the material case. Any materials that may be bent or crimped may get
stuck or break along the way to the extruder.
If you are using material you had previously printed with, it is important that you remove any material that may have
already been routed from the material case to the extruder.
MOISTURE SENSITIVE MATERIAL BEST PRACTICES
Once the Support Material is loaded, you’ll want to leave the material in the material case for as long as possible unless the
printer is not going to be used for an extended amount of time (more than one week). When not in use always store the
support material in the sealed metalized polyester bag to avoid moisture uptake and environmental damage.
If you notice excessive stringiness during a print this is often caused by moisture uptake of the material. At this point, we
recommend using a new unopened spool
When replacing the lament, pull out the desiccant packs in the material case, and place them in the bag with the
removed spool.
