ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL
Visually check the amount of
coolant in the reservoir tank
when the engine is cold. If the
coolant level is below the "MIN"
level, remove the reservoir tank
ller cap and add coolant until
the "MAX" level is reached. If
the reservoir is empty, check
the coolant level in the radiator.
If there is insufcient coolant in
the radiator, pour coolant into
the radiator up to the cap and
also pour it into the reservoir
tank up to the "MAX" level.
If it becomes necessary to repeatedly add coolant, your cooling system
should be inspected by your Local Authorized Dealer.
WARNING
!
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.
Serious burns could be caused by high-pressure uid
escaping from the radiator.
Wrap a thick cloth around the cap and carefully remove the
cap by turning it a quarter turn to allow built-up pressure to
escape. When all hissing, steam and liquid stops, slowly turn
the cap all the way off.
REFILLING ENGINE COOLANT
1. Remove the reservoir tank ller cap and add coolant until the "MAX"
level is reached (refer to page 95 for proper mixing ratio).
2. If the reservoir tank is empty, rell the radiator and the reservoir
tank with the coolant at the same time. For relling coolant in the
radiator, remove the radiator cover rst and then slowly turn the
radiator cap while wrapping it with a cloth. After removing the
radiator cap ll the radiator with coolant.
3. After relling the coolant, tighten the reservoir tank ller cap and the
radiator cap.
WARNING
!
To avoid being scalded, do not attempt to change the coolant
when the engine is hot.
CAUTION
!
The Blue Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze can degrade the
coated surface. If it adheres to the coated surface, wash the
coolant away with water.
Be sure to use Blue Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze. The
cooling performance and anticorrosive treatment cannot be
assured if another coolant is used.
Do not rell the coolant above the "MAX" level of the tank. If
it exceeds this level, it may spill out as the engine is warmed
up. Carefully rell as not to contaminate it with foreign
substances.
