1. Thermostat should be installed on an inside wall about 4 ft (122 cm) above the floor.
2. NEVER install a thermostat on an outside wall.
3. Do not install a thermostat where it will be affected by:
A. Drafts
B. Hot or cold pipes
C. Sun light
D. Lighting fixtures
E. Television
F. Near a fireplace or chimney
4. Check thermostat operation by raising and lowering thermostat as required to start
and stop the burners.
5. Instructions for the final adjustment of the thermostat are packaged with the thermo-
stat (adjusting heating anticipator, calibration, etc.).

1. This appliance is equipped with an ignition device which automatically lights the pilot. Do
not try to light the pilot by hand.
2. Before operating, smell all around the appliance for gas. Be sure to smell next to the
floor because some gas is heavier than air and will settle on the floor.
