To create a connection to a plug-in unit with HyperTerminal or
PuTTYtel:
1. Connect the workstation's COM port to the units COM1
connector with cable MW45042.
If you have the MPU121 unit, connect to the COM2 connector
of the SPS311.
2. Start the program:
- If you use HyperTerminal, select Start - Programs -
Accessories - Communications - HyperTerminal.
- If you use PuTTYtel, select Start – Run… and enter
C:\DigiCORAIII\Putty\PuTTYtel.exe
3. Set the properties of the new connection:
- If you use HyperTerminal, click File - Properties.
- If you use PuTTYtel, click Connection- Serial.
4. Select the workstation’s COM port to which the cable is
connected:
- If you use HyperTerminal, select the port from the Connect
using list in Connect to tab.
- If you use PuTTYtel, enter the port in Serial line to connect
to.
5. Configure the settings:
- If you use HyperTerminal, click Configure, and apply the
following settings:
Bits per second: 19200.
Data bits: 8.
Parity: None.
Stop bits: 1.
Flow Control: None.
Then click OK twice
- If you use PuTTYtel, apply the following settings:
