2.4.5.3 GROWTH CUTTING METHOD
The growth must be free of solid items (such as stones, wires, loose debris, etc.) before using the machine. These
items could be thrown out or could damage the machine. If they cannot be removed, avoid such spots.
When mowing in uneven terrain, care must be taken to ensure that the bottom disc continuously slides over the ground and
does not bounce. Disc bouncing results in a low-quality of growth mowing and uneven stubble.
Set the maximum engine speed, let the cutting disc spin at its maximum speed, and then drive against the growth that you wish to
mow. The cut vegetation is thrown by the cutting disc to the right.
When mowing, proceed through the vegetation so that you always have uncut vegetation on the left side of the machine
Fig.
11.
The covers are designed to fully control the mowed growth flow even when the full working width is used.
When guiding the machine on a slope and driving along the contour, set the handlebars to the side (see 2.3.3.1 and
Fig.

C
HORIZONTAL HANDLEBARS ADJUSTMENT) always walk a little lower than the machine is moving. Always drive with the machine
storing the cut vegetation downhill.
Observe safe slope accessibility
(Table 17)!
When driving on a slope, select lower gears to drive the machine slower. At higher speeds, there is the increased
risk of losing control of the machine's direction of travel or unexpected loss of machine operator’s stability.
2.4.5.4 POTENTIAL MOWING ISSUES
Take extra care when lifting the machine and reversing the machine!
Always wait until the cutting disc has stopped before continuing to work on or around the machine.
When cleaning the space under the top cover, the engine must always be turned OFF!
Only tilt the machine back, on the handlebar. Always take extra care when moving in the area under the raised
machine! Secure it against spontaneous movement!
Take extra care when cleaning the area under the top cover. Blade cutting edges are sharp. When cleaning,
protect your hands with work gloves or use a suitable item, such as a tree branch.
THE DISC SPEED DECREASES, ENGINE SPEED DECREASES, BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT STOP:
Immediately switch off the machine, engage reverse gear „R“ and drive the machine slightly backwards. The space underneath the top
cover partially cleans itself from the excessive grass mass.
Drive against the vegetation again.
If this phenomenon occurs repeatedly after a few meters of driving at low density or vegetation height, reduce the travel
speed by one degree down as a precaution.
If there is a rattling or whistling sound from the machine during a sudden reduction in the speed of the cutting disc during
mowing, the cutting disc drive belt is likely to slip and need to be adjusted (tensioned) immediately!
THE DISK STOPPED AND ENGINE STOPPED:
Release both levers on the handlebars.
Shift to neutral “N”. Start the engine. Engage reverse gear “R” and drive the machine slightly backwards. Switch off the engine.
Clean the area under the top cover and spread the grass mass on the surface.
Start the engine, shift one speed lower than before
50
. Switch on the cutting disc drive and drive again against the vegetation.
If the engine shuts down frequently during mowing despite a reduction in travel speed, the vegetation is most likely to be
excessively tall or dense, lying down, rotten or wet. Therefore, reduce the working width to ¾ to ½ of the maximum one.
2.4.6 CONNECTION OF THE SULKA AV-650
Never use the machine with the attached Sulka AV-650 on any slopes!
Observe this safety command, especially when working on land where combinations of planes and slopes occur. They can
easily overturn the set, e.g. when turning or if the side tilt of the set suddenly increases due to uneven terrain!
Fig. 12
Slide the fork of the Sulka drawbar over the hinge feet on the tubular bumper and secure the fork from above with a pin with a
locking pin.
The Sulka AV-650 machines feature their retractable drawbar, by extending the drawbar, set the distance of the sulky seat from the
machine, so that you can reach the travel control levers and turn on the cutting disc on the handlebars when turning left with the
necessary reserve of distance.
Adjust the handlebars to such a height that the handlebars do not collide with the lower limbs when the front of the machine is raised
by approx. 20 cm.
50
If the cause of the engine shutdown was excessive density or height of grass, the vegetation is is lying down, rotten or wet, it is better to continue mowing at a slower speed. This
way, you protect the engine, cutting disc, and machine gears from their excessive loading and quicker wear.
