6.2 Checking installation
To perform the following test steps the device must be inserted in the PC or
connected.
¼ Open the Device Manager (
Start | Settings | Control Panel | System |
Hardware | Device Manage
r).
¼ Check to see whether the device is shown in the group CAN-Hardware and
Vector-Hardware respectively. If this device is not listed then the device driver
either was not installed or was installed improperly. In this case open the
Other
Components
? item that is marked with a yellow in the Device Manager.
¼ If you find an entry for Vector <device> here then the driver was not installed
properly. Correct the driver installation as described in section 6.3.
¼ If you do not find the entries for the device the device driver has not been
installed yet.
6.3 Correction of driver installation
Vector If the driver was not installed properly the entry <device> appears in Other
Components of the
Device Manager.
In this case you must update the driver as follows:
¼ Open the Device Manager.
¼ Open the Other Components list by double clicking this line.
¼ Select the Vector <device> item and click
Properties.
¼ Then choose the Driver tab and click [Update driver…]. Correct the driver
installation as described in section
3.2 (Windows 2000), 4.2 (Windows XP) and
5.2 (Windows Vista) respectively.
¼ Now follow the Windows instructions using the supplied Installation CD.
