8.14 Exchanging the coupling of the
cooling liquid tank
You need to exchange the coupling of the cooling
liquid tank according to the interval in the main-
tenance table.
1. Empty the cooling liquid tank.
2. Unscrew the filter in the cooling liquid tank with
your hand. With the other hand hold the coupling
of the cooling liquid tank from the outside.
3. Put the filter aside.
4. Unscrew the nut that fixates the coupling in the
cooling liquid tank with your hand. With the other
hand hold the coupling of the cooling liquid tank
from the outside.

5. Push the coupling out of the tank.

6. Thoroughly clean the cooling liquid tank. Especially
clean the sealing surface around the opening for
the coupling.
If the surface around the opening for the
coupling is soiled, the sealing ring on the
coupling will not properly seal the tank and
liquid will leak.
7. Insert the spare coupling into the designated open-
ing as shown in the following figure.

LIQUID TANK
8. Screw down the nut onto the coupling with your
hand. Do not tighten the nut completely yet.
If you tighten the nut now, you may
damage the coupling of the cooling liquid
tank when you attach the tank to the
machine. As a result, the coupling will no
longer be water tight.
9. Reinsert the cooling liquid tank until the tank is
properly attached to the machine.
10. Pull the cooling liquid tank out of the machine
again.
11. Tighten the nut completely and screw down the fil-
ter onto the coupling with your hand.
12. Fill new cooling liquid into the tank.
13. Reinsert the cooling liquid tank until the tank is
properly attached to the machine.
