MOWER BELT REPLACEMENT
38” Mowers
1. Park the tractor on a level surface. Disengage the
PTO, turn off the engine and set the parking brake.
Remove the key.
2. Remove the mower deck from the tractor. See Mower
Installation & Removal.
3. Loosen the nuts securing the belt guides
(A, Figure 36).
4. Note the position of the idler pulley belt guide (B).
Loosen the idler pulley capscrew.
5. Remove the old belt from the pulleys and install the
new belt as shown in Figure 36.
6. Tighten the belt guide nuts.
7. Return the idler pulley belt guide (B) to its original
position and tighten the idler pulley capscrew.
8. Reinstall the mower deck on the tractor.
44” Mowers
1. Park the tractor on a level surface. Disengage the
PTO, turn off the engine and set the parking brake.
Remove the key.
2. Remove the mower deck from the tractor. See
Mower Installation & Removal.
3. Remove the left and right belt covers (A, Figure 37).
4. Remove the front belt guide (B).
5. Loosen the idler pulley capscrew (C).
6. Remove the old belt from the mower deck.
7. Install the new belt as shown.
8. Reinstall the front belt guide (B).
9. Reinstall the left and right belt covers (A).
10. Reinstall the mower deck and run for 10 minutes
under a no-load condition.
