5.6 Firewall
5.6.1 ACL Setting
(Access Control List, ACL) is a list of instructions of a router and switch interfaces, used
for controlling the data packets in and out ports. ACL applies to all routing protocols,
such as IP, ipx, appletalk, and others. In this table contains a matching relationship,
conditions, and the query statement, the table is just a framework structure, its
purpose is to control certain access.
Ø MAC/IP Port Filtering: Disable or Enable this function.
Ø Default Policy: Accepted or Dropped the pre-set rules.
Ø Source MAC address: Sending the MAC address of packet servers.
Ø Dest IP address: Accept the IP address of the packet.
Ø Source IP address: Sending the IP address of packet servers.
Ø Protocol: Include TCP, UDP, ICMP and other protocols.
Ø Dest Port Range: Port range is 1-65535.
Ø Source Port Range: Port range is 1-65535.
Ø Action: Perform functions have two modes, accept and discard.
Accept: Allowing data packets through the router, the other is not limited to the
packet matches the rule, is determined by the set of default rules
Drop: Prohibiting data packets through the router, the other is not limited to the
packet matches the rule, is determined by the set of default rules
