Why does my Weber Summit S-470 Grill burner have a yellow flame and smell like gas?
    • M
      michelleosbornAug 22, 2025
A yellow or orange flame, along with a gas smell, indicates a potential issue. This could be due to a blockage in the holes. To resolve this, clean the spider/insect screens. Other solutions include straightening the fuel hose and cleaning the burners. Also, make sure to hold the control knob in for two seconds after snapping the igniter and seeing the orange flame from the burner lighting tube. If problems persist, manually light the burner.

      Tony CarrollSep 5, 2025

Why does my Weber Summit S-470 Grill lose heat in cold weather?
    • T
      Trevor BoydSep 2, 2025
If your Weber Grill loses heat when cooking in cold weather (10°C/50°F or colder), it may be due to frost or ice on the outside of the LP cylinder. This indicates that the liquid propane is vaporizing too slowly to supply the burners. Turn off the burner control knobs and the LP cylinder, then replace it with a spare LP cylinder to resume cooking.

    • A
      Angela BakerSep 1, 2025
The inside of your Weber Grill lid may appear to be peeling, but it is not paint. The lid is porcelain enamel or stainless steel. The peeling look is due to baked-on grease that has turned to carbon and is flaking off. This is not a defect. To resolve this, clean the lid thoroughly.
