Wireless LAN Transmission
The CP 20 electrocardiograph can be configured for DHCP (Dynamic Host Communication protocol) yes or no and
for WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) security yes or no. Your IP manager will need to configure the wireless access
point and Welch Allyn CardioPerfect workstation at your site. Your IP manager will also need to provide the
following parameter values to be set in your CP 20 electrocardiograph. Refer to section 3 for more information on
WLAN setup.
NOTE: environmental conditions may affect the reliability of WLAN transmission.
DHCP: No
In this case your wireless access point will have a network setting of static and the following parameters must be set
in the electrocardiograph:
IP Adderess
Def. Gateway
Sub Net Mask
DHCP: Yes
In this case your access point will have a network setting of automatic and there is no need to set the IP Address,
Def. Gateway and Sub Net Mask.
In either case above, obtain these parameter values from your IP manager to be set in your electrocardiograph
Host IP
Port Number
SSID
Channel Number
NOTE: addresses are always entered as 4 set of 3 digits, therefore an address of 192.168.0.7 will be
entered on the electrocardiograph as 192.168.000.007.
If WEP security is disabled on your access point then set:
Security (WEP): No
If WEP security is enable on your access point then set the following additional parameters.
Security (WEP): Yes
WEP Key
WEP Key ID
NOTE: the range for the WEP key on the cardiograph is 0-3 if the range on your access point is 1-4 then
the 0 on the electrocardiograph maps to 1 on the access point, 1 on the electrocardiograph maps to 2 on
the access point, etc.
