Disassembly
of
the
Engine
Block
1.
Remove
the
engine
rocker
cover
and
baffle
assembly.
2.
Rotate
the
engine
crankshaft
so
as
to
position
the
camshaft
drive
chain
so
that
the
master
link
is
in
a
position
that
it
can
be
disassembled.
Remove
the
chain
tensioner
from
the
front
timing
gear
cover.
Disassemble
the
master
link
to
separate
the
chain.
3.
Loosen
cylinder
head
bolts
in
the
numerical
order
shown
in
the
figure.
Make
sure
bolts
are
loosened
a
few
turns
at
a
time.
4.
Remove
the
rocker
shaft
assembly
and
camshaft
with
drive
gear.
5.
Remove
the
cylinder
head
with
valves.
6.
Remove
the
valves
wi
th
the
aid
of
a
suitable
valve
spring
com-
pressor
tool.
Make
sure
the
removed
valves
are
kept
in
sequence
for
each
cylinder.
7.
Remove
the
engine
oil
sump.
8.
Remove
pulley
cover.

crankshaft

Remove
the
lube
oil
assembly
and
drive
chain.

10.
Remove
each
connecting.

bear
ing
cap
and
remove

necting
rod
and
piston
assembly
from
the
engine
block
by
care-
fully
forcing
it
out
the
top
of
the
block.
NOTE:
Keep

them

Press
out
the
piston
pin
with
piston
pin
setting
tool.
Make
sure
that
disassembled
pistons
and
piston
rings
are
kept
in
sequence
for
each
cylinder.
