• Normal works best with standard printer paper weight 18lb or 20lb (67 - 80 g/m
2
).
• High works best with paper weight lower than or equal to 16lb (60 g/m
2
or lower).
Paperweight
The Paperweight option applies pressure to the document stack in the input tray. This improves
document feeding and paper separation, especially when scanning document stacks containing
mixed sizes and paper thickness.
When this option is selected, the scanner lowers a pressure lever onto the document stack when
you click Scan. After the lever is in place the scanner will then start feeding pages. When scanning
is complete, the lever is automatically released.
Note: you should not use this option if you are scanning plastic cards.
