What to do if Xerox DocuMate 3640 paper jams halfway through scan?
    • G
      George HarrisSep 23, 2025
If paper jams about halfway through a scan on your Xerox Scanner, check the flatbed glass to ensure no items are on it when you scan from the ADF. Multiple items placed on the flatbed glass will raise the lid slightly, thus preventing the pages feeding through the ADF from touching the glass.

      Rebecca MarshAug 25, 2025
If the Xerox Scanner installation fails, it might be due to existing driver programs for another scanner on your computer. Remove those other drivers and then reinstall your Xerox DocuMate 3640 scanner.

How to fix a Xerox DocuMate 3640 that won't scan?
    • R
      Raymond RodriguezAug 26, 2025
If your Xerox Scanner won't scan, first, check all cable connections to ensure they are securely plugged in. Then, turn on the scanner's power, and if the status light doesn't illuminate, try another electrical outlet. If problems persist, restart your computer to ensure all software files have loaded, and try plugging the scanner directly into a USB port on the computer. Finally, verify that 'TWAIN: Xerox[®] DocuMate[®] 3640' is selected as your scanner.

Why Xerox DocuMate 3640 doesn't remove all blank pages?
    • D
      Diane ObrienSep 12, 2025
If, with 'Skip Blank Originals' selected, not all blank pages have been removed by your Xerox Scanner, the result will vary based on the DPI range and paper weight. Generally 100 dpi or 150 dpi produces the best results. This can happen if you are scanning light weight paper, such as 16lb or 18lb printer paper, because the scanner may be picking up faint images through the paper.

If you're getting blank pages or pages with lines when using AutoCrop to Original on your Xerox Scanner, the pages were probably scanned in crooked, or skewed. Adjust the paper guides on the scanner so pages feed in straight.
