Symptom  Cause  Solution 
Colors align incorrectly 
 
Color has shifted outside the 
designated area. 
To initiate the color registration cycle, 
open and close the rear door. 
White lines or streaks running 
through one color only 
 
Something is blocking the lens for 
the affected color. 
Clean the lens for the affected color. 
 
The toner cartridges are not 
Xerox
®
 toner cartridges. 
Replace the toner cartridges with 
genuine Xerox
®
 toner cartridges. For 
details, see Consumables on page 207. 
 
The toner was stored in a high 
temperature area. 
Replace the toner cartridge. 
White line or lines running 
through all colors 
 
Paper or debris is dragging 
against the bottom of the 
transfer belt unit. 
•  Remove any paper or debris from 
the paper path. 
•  Replace the transfer belt unit.
