Changing XRT and Target Platform
Versions
The Alveo™ Data Center Accelerator card target plaorm and XRT revisions can change
signicantly between releases. To ensure a successful upgrade (or downgrade) of the Alveo card
XRT and plaorm, carefully follow the instrucons for your specic release pairing. Failure to
adhere to these procedures can result in an unstable installaon or other issues.
The procedures for changing between the 2018.2 and 2018.3 releases dier from changing
between 2018.x (2018.2 and 2018.3) and 2019.1 as well as the 2019.2 releases due to
signicant architectural changes in the Alveo card plaorm and XRT.

Soware.
IMPORTANT!
Do not enter Ctrl + c in the terminal while the rmware is ashing as this can cause the card to
become inoperable.

RedHat and CentOS
During upgrading, downgrading, or uninstalling, it can be useful to list the currently installed
Alveo packages. To list all currently installed plaorm packages, run the following command in a
Linux terminal:
$ yum list installed | grep xilinx
To list the currently installed XRT package, run the following command:
$ yum list installed | grep xrt
