11. Validate the card as described in Chapter 5: Card Bring-Up and Validaon.
Upgrade from 2018.x to 2019.2 in RedHat and CentOS
Note: For links to the available plaorm and XRT revisions, see Chapter 4: Installing the Deployment
Soware.
To upgrade from either the 2018.2 or 2018.3 release to the 2019.2 release, perform the
following steps.
1. Remove the current XRT and plaorm versions.
$ sudo yum remove xrt
2. Download the 2019.2 version of XRT and install it with the following command.
$ sudo yum install <rpm-dir>/xrt_<version>.rpm
3. Restore the card to the original manufacturing state.
$ sudo /opt/xilinx/xrt/bin/xbmgmt flash --factory_reset
4. Cold reboot the system.
5. To conrm that the plaorm running on the FPGA is either GOLDEN_2 or GOLDEN_5, review
the output from the following command.
$ sudo /opt/xilinx/xrt/bin/xbmgmt flash --scan
For example, you might see xilinx_u250_GOLDEN_2.
IMPORTANT! If the GOLDEN_2 image is running on the FPGA, carefully review the Design Advisory for Alveo
Data Center Accelerator Card Golden Corrupon, found at Xilinx Answer Record AR-71915. Complete the
repair instrucons associated with the Xilinx Answer prior to proceeding.

6. Download the desired deployment plaorm installaon package and install it.
$ sudo yum install <rpm-dir>/xilinx-<card>-<version>.rpm
