3.5 Preliminary System Check
A preliminary system check is required after installing the VLI detector, before it is commissioned for use. The
check can be conducted by connecting to the detector using the Xtralis VSC software. The preliminary
systems check includes:
l Configuring the "pipes in use" setting. This option can be found in the Airflow settings tab of the VLI
configuration dialog in Xtralis VSC.
l Normalizing the air flow. This command can be found in the Device menu in Xtralis VSC. All detectors out
of the factory must be normalized.
l Conducting a basic pass/fail smoke test.

VESDASystem Design Manual.
