8 Attach the engine stop switch lanyard
to a secure place on your clothing, your
arm or leg while operating.
8
Do not attach the lanyard to clothing that
could tear loose. Do not route the lanyard
in such a way that it could become entan-
gled, preventing it from functioning.
8 Avoid accidentally pulling the lanyard
during normal operation. Loss of
engine power means the loss of most
steering control. Also, without engine
power, the boat could slow rapidly.
This could cause people and objects in
the boat to be thrown forward.
NOTE:
The engine cannot be started with the
lock-plate removed.

Power Trim/Tilt Switch
The power trim/tilt adjusts the motor
angle in relation to the transom. The
power trim/tilt switch is located on the
remote control lever grip. Pushing the
switch UP trims the motor up, then tilts
the motor up. Pressing the switch DN
tilts the motor down and trims the motor
down. When the switch button is
released, the motor will stop in its current
position.
NOTE:
Refer to the sections ADJUSTING TRIM
ANGLE and TILTING UP/DOWN in
Chapter 3 for instructions on usage.
