SUPPLEMENT 5
5-17
B. Tool radius compensation for five-axis machining
1. Command
The offsetting function in question conducts tool-path control for tool radius compensation in
a plane (called ‘compensation plane’) perpendicular to the tool axis whose direction is
determined by the motion command of the rotational axis concerned.
Tool radius compensation (to the left)
Tool radius compensation (to the right)
±99999.9999 (mm)
±9999.99999 (in)
Tool offset number (Note)
Note: It depends on the setting of F92 bit7 and F94 bit7 whether TOOL OFFSET or
MAZATROL TOOL DATA is selected.
ACT- + OFFSET No.
ACT- + ATC- CO.
2. Notes
The tool change command, if required, must always be given after canceling the mode
of radius compensation for five-axis machining.
Tool radius compensation for five-axis machining is not available if the C-axis control
of the turning spindle No. 2 is concerned (on accordingly executed machines).
The function in question cannot be used at all in the mode of operation for turning.
The tool radius compensation for five-axis machining must be turned on and off within
the mode of tool tip point control.
As is the case in general with tool radius compensation, do not interrupt the flow of
cutting feed by a command which prohibits pre-reading (e.g. G05, M00) for tool radius
compensation.
The circular arc drawn by one block should not subtend a central angle of 180° or
more.
Do not give any commands for rotational axes in a block of circular interpolation.
