each PoE setting, refer to
Table 13.
Table 13 PoE Configuration Options
Option Description
Port Shows the number of the port that is
being configured
Power Enable – Enables PoE capability on the
port. By default, power is enabled on
all ports, allowing them to supply
Power over Ethernet to any connected
device.
Disable – Disables PoE capability on
the port
Priority When the available power budget (180
watts total power, with 18 watts guard
band) is exceeded, the Switch stops sup
-
plying Power over Ethernet to lower pri-
ority ports. Set the PoE priority for the
port by selecting one of the following
options:
Low (least important)
High (default)
Critical (most important)
For ports with the same priority, ports
connected to the lowest physical port
number will have priority over those
connected to higher port numbers. For
example, port 3 will have a higher prior
-
ity than port 5, providing they both
share the same power priority weight
-
ing. A critical device on port 24 will have
a higher priority than a low priority
device on port 1.
For more information on planning for
and managing PoE, refer to
Planning a
Power Budget on page 43.
Power Limit Sets the maximum power that is allo-
cated for the connected PoE device.
Available options include:
15400 (default)
7000
4000
Figures are in milliwatts.
Power Used If a PoE device is connected to the port,
shows how much power it is using. Fig
-
ures are in decivolts (dV). To get the
actual voltage, divide the number by 10.
This information is continuously
updated.
