This chapter describes the +Q963 emergency stop option and its settings.
Overview
Option +Q963 corresponds to an uncontrolled stop in accordance with stop category
0 (IEC/EN 60204-1). When the user gives the emergency stop command, the drive
activates the Safe torque off (STO) function. The Safe torque off function disables
the control voltage of the power semiconductors of the drive output stage. This
prevents the drive from generating the torque required to rotate the motor. The motor
coasts to a stop. The main contactor/breaker of the drive is not opened.

The STO function complies with IEC/EN 61800-5-2.
The design principles of the option +Q963 comply with EN ISO 13850.
