The next diagram illustrates an RS-485 network with Master device at the end of the serial line.
1. E-kit Master at the end of the bus line, pull-ups and pull-downs activated, bus termination with 120
Ω resistors
2. Slave in the serial line.
3. Slave at the end of the serial line, termination with 120 Ω resistors
There is no need for a termination resistor if the Master device is in the serial line. However, the pull-up and
pull-down resistors must be activated (see next diagram).
