Grid output connection (AC side)
For the connection to the inverter grid you need 3 connections: ground,
neutral and phase. The ground connection to the inverter is obligatory.
Any failure of the inverter when it is not connected to earth through the appropriate terminal is not
covered by the warranty.
Plug the grid cable into the inverter using the specic AC cable gland
19
and connect the AC output terminal block
10
.
Use a properly sized tripolar cable and check the tightness of the AC
cable gland
19
at the end of the installation.
Characteristics and sizing of the line cable
The cross-section of the AC line conductor must be sized in order to
prevent unwanted disconnections of the inverter from the grid due to
high impedance of the line that connects the inverter to the power supply
point; In fact, if the impedance is too high, it causes an increase in the
AC voltage that, on reaching the limit set by the country of installation,
causes the inverter to switch off.
The table shows the maximum length of the line conductor based on the
cross-section of this conductor:
Cross-section of the line conductor (mm
2
) Maximum length of the line conductor (m)
PVI-5000-TL-OUTD PVI-6000-TL-OUTD
4 mm² (up to 40 °C Ambient temperature) 11 m 9 m
6 mm² 16 m 14 m
10 mm² 28 m 23 m
The values are calculated in nominal power conditions, considering:
- loss of power along the line no greater than 1%.
- use of copper cable, with HEPR rubber insulation and positioned in open air.
Load protection switch (AC disconnect switch)
To protect the AC connection line of the inverter, we recommend install-
ing a device for protection against over current and leakage with the fol-
lowing characteristics:
PVI-5000-TL-OUTD PVI-6000-TL-OUTD
Type Automatic circuit breaker with differential thermal magnetic protection
Voltage rating 230 Vac
Current rating 32 A 40 A
Magnetic protection characteristic B/C
Type of differential protection A/AC
