Testing
Gathering Supplies
To begin testing, you need the following items:
• Accu-Chek Advantage Meter
Accu-Chek Advantage Plus Test Strips
• Accu-Chek Softclix Lancet
• Accu-Chek Softclix Finger Pricker
Performing a Test
Healthcare professions please see “Testing Blood
Glucose in Multiple Patients.”
1. Wash your hands in warm, soapy water. Rinse well
and dry completely. Warming fingers can increase
blood flow.
2. Load the finger pricker according to manufacturer’s
instructions.
To reduce the risk of infection, change the
lancet with each test.
The Accu-Chek Softclix finger pricker is
intended for patient self-monitoring by a single
person only. It must not be used to collect
blood from more than one person as this poses
an infection risk.
