Alternate sites testing
Farbe: P 249 – Prüfmittelnummer: 203
14.2 Obtaining blood and testing blood glucose
1. Remove the coloured cap from the lancing
device.
2. Insert a new lancet into the lancing device
as described in the instructions for use of
the Accu-Chek Compact Plus meter.
3. Attach the clear plastic AST cap. As with
the coloured cap, the locating notch in the
cap (1) must be directly aligned with the
locating line on the lancing device (2).
The AST cap must click into place.
i
For blood collection, the AST cap must be on the lancing device.
Without this cap, the lancing device cannot be primed, nor can
the lancet be triggered. Instead, the lancet is ejected when you
press the plunger.
4. Rotate the cap until you reach your
chosen penetration depth.
i
To obtain a sufficiently large blood
drop from alternate sites, lancing
must be deeper than on the fingertips.
However, these sites are usually less
painful.
