Interruption of use of your insulin pump for a longer period of time
Warning: Contact your doctor and/or your health care team for an alter-
nate therapy plan when you interrupt the insulin pump therapy for a
longer period of time.
Before using another Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump, always check
your personal settings before use in order to avoid incorrect insulin deli-
very. Make sure that the time and date are set correctly.
Interruption of operation for more than 1 day, for example:
• If you wish not to wear your insulin pump, e.g. when outside in a very
hot and sunny climate to avoid overheating the insulin or at the beach
to avoid getting sand into your insulin pump.
1. Put your insulin pump into STOP. (Press

once).
2. Remove the infusion set, adapter and cartridge.
3. Remove the PowerPack and insert the cartridge and PowerPack
compartment caps.
4. Store your insulin pump properly.
Please refer to section 10.3 “Store your insulin pump” for further infor-
mation. Or, if necessary, send your insulin pump to your Accu-Chek
customer service center for insulin pumps.

your insulin pump” for further information.
9.2 Interruption of insulin pump therapy
Consult your health care team about when and for how long pump therapy can be
interrupted.
Short interruption
1. Put your Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump into STOP.
2. Remove or disconnect your infusion set and close the adapter with
the protective cap provided. When using a disconnectable infusion set,
disconnect at the site and put the protective covers provided on the con-
nectors.
3. If desired, silence the STOP-Warning.
Please refer to section 5.1“Start and stop insulin delivery” for further in-
formation.
Measure your blood glucose level regularly during the interruption. Inject insulin
according to the instructions of your health care team with a syringe or insulin pen.
Continuation of pump therapy
1. Attach a new infusion set and prime it prior to inserting it. When using
a disconnectable infusion set, reconnect the tubing. (There is no need to
bolus for air space in the cannula when re-connecting!)
2. Put your insulin pump into RUN (press
d
and
f
).
Measure your blood glucose level within 2 hours in order to check the functionality
of the system and to ensure insulin delivery.
