10.3 Store your insulin pump
Caution: When your insulin pump will not be in use for a long period of
time, it must be properly stored, to prevent a malfunction.
To store your insulin pump:
Remove the adapter and the cartridge
Remove the PowerPack to preserve the PowerPack service life.
Insert the cartridge and PowerPack compartment caps.
Store your insulin pump in its shipping case.
Storage conditions:
Temperature range 5 to 45°C (41 to 113°F)
Air humidity range 5 to 85% rel. humidity
Atmospheric pressure range 700 to 1060 mbar
10.4 PowerPack information
Caution: To prevent water from entering the pump casing, change the
PowerPack only in a dry environment and make sure that the seal of the
PowerPack cover is not worn out or missing and that the PowerPack is
properly inserted.
Caution: Do not try to recharge the PowerPack, do not open it or dis-
pose of in a fire as this may lead to malfunction of your insulin pump.
Caution: Always have extra PowerPacks available and pay attention to
the following:
Do not store PowerPacks in the refrigerator or freezer. High humidity
and low temperature affects the PowerPack service life.
Always keep PowerPacks in their original package until ready to use.
Prevent early discharge by avoiding contact between PowerPacks
themselves and between PowerPacks and any other metal objects
(coins, keys, etc.).
10.2.5 Cartridge and infusion set
Caution: Your insulin pump has been developed for use with 3.0 ml glass
cartridges and Accu-Chek infusion sets. The cartridge and infusion set are
sterile products and intended for single use only. Sterility is gua-
ranteed for unopened packaging up to the indicated expiration date. Do
not use if package is damaged. Do not reuse single use materials.
Reuse of single use materials might lead to a malfunction of your insulin
pump and to incorrect insulin delivery and/or an infection. Always handle
the items with clean hands.
Use specified cartridges only. The use of other cartridges can lead to mal-
function of your insulin pump and endanger your health and may void the
warranty. Do not remove the cartridge or the infusion set from the pack-
aging until ready to use.
Replace and discard these items according your doctor’s and/or your
health care team’s recommendations and according to the specifications
in the corresponding instructions for use.
10.2.6 Easy touch rings
If the easy touch rings fall off your insulin pump make sure to clean the frontfoil with
a dry cloth before replacing them. In case the residues of the easy touch rings should
not come off after cleaning with a dry cloth, please contact your Accu-Chek customer
service center for insulin pumps for further information.
New easy touch rings can be ordered at your Accu-Chek customer service center for
insulin pumps.
Caution: Do not use solvents, strong detergents, acidic or alkaline-based
substances, bleaching agents, scouring pads or sharp instruments for
cleaning as they may damage your insulin pump.
