Warning: Your insulin pump has been designed for use with Accu-Chek
infusion sets only. The use of other infusion sets can endanger your health
and may void the warranty. Infusion sets are sterile products in-
tended for single use only. Sterility is guaranteed for unopened pack-
aging up to the indicated expiration date. Do not use sterile products
if the package is damaged.
Do not reuse single use materials. Reuse of single use materials might
lead to a malfunction of your insulin pump and to incorrect insulin deli-
very and/or an infection. Always handle the items with clean hands.
Always have extra infusion sets with you. This allows you to replace an infusion set
when needed.
Your Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump stops priming after 25 units*of insulin. If
insulin has not emerged from the infusion set needle after priming, repeat the prime
function. When insulin emerges from the tip of the needle, press any key to stop pri-
ming. An infusion set is filled when air is eliminated from the cartridge, the adapter
and infusion set and insulin emerges from the tip of the needle.
Info: The insulin used for the prime function is not added to the history of
daily totals.
Please read the following instructions in order to minimize air bubbles in your system.
* This parameter may vary based on the standard configuration of your insulin pump
and changes made using the Accu-Chek DiaLog Pump Programming tool.
6. Slowly rotate the adapter clockwise into the lock position.
4.5 Prime the infusion set
Warning: Never change the cartridge or prime the infusion set with an
infusion set inserted into your body. You risk uncontrolled insulin
delivery. With disconnectable infusion sets, make sure you have discon-
nected prior to changing or priming.
Always follow the instructions for use of the infusion set you are using.
Caution: Air bubbles in the cartridge, adapter and in the infusion set
cause the infusion of air instead of insulin.Your body does not receive the
required amount of insulin. An Error E4: Occlusion” may be delayed.
Remove these bubbles while filling the cartridge and/or priming the infu-
sion set. Make sure the infusion set is not connected to your body.
Cold insulin may release air when warmed. Use only insulin at room tem-
perature when filling the cartridge and priming the infusion set.
Inspect the cartridge, adapter and the infusion set for air bubbles at least
every three hours during the day and before you go to sleep. Remove any
air bubbles and, if necessary, change system components.
