7. An hourglass symbol will appear on the screen.
After 5 seconds the test result will appear.
To help remember specific events that might have
influenced a specific blood glucose result, you can add
a flag–an asterisk–to mark those results in the memory.
To flag the result before you begin the test, press
twice when the flashing blood drop appears on the display. To flag the result after
the test, press twice while the result is still displayed.
If this feature is used in a multiple resident environment, the use of the flag should be predefined and staff
should receive proper training.
NOTE: Do not move the test strip when reading is in progress. If you do, the reading may terminate (see error
messages "E 4" on page 43 and "E 9" on page 44).
8. To remove the test strip, hold the meter so the test strip points straight down and push the test strip ejector
forward as far as it will go. (The meter turns off automatically.) Dispose of the test strip and lancet in an
appropriate biohazard container.
NOTE: Always use the test strip ejector to remove the test strip and turn off the meter after use. If you leave the
test strip in the meter after testing, the meter will begin to beep after 60 seconds. The meter turns off
automatically after another 30 seconds. Leaving the meter on for extended periods of time will shorten the
battery life.
