Recovering
the
disk
To
recover
a
system
disk
or
partition
while
booting
remotely:

art
your
compu
t
er
.

Use

he
appropriate
procedure
for
your
compu
t
er
to
configure
it
to
boot
from
t
he
NIC.
For
example
,
you
migh
t
press
F12
when
t
he
boo
t
menu
displays.
For
more
informa
t
ion,
refer
to
the
documentation
for
your
compu
t
er
.
When
the
computer
restarts
,
allow
it
to
boo
t
from
the
NIC.
(You
migh
t
be
prompted
to
press
F1
to
continue.)

When
prompted,
press
F8.
You
have
a
limited
amount
of
time
to
do
this.

Using
the
arrow
keys
,
select
Remote
Boot
(W
indo
ws)
and
then
press
Enter
.

When
prompted,
enter
t
he
password
tha
t
you
specified
when
you
protected
the
system
disk
or
when
you
last
changed
the
password
for
t
hat
disk.
If
you
don’t
remember
your
password,
you
can
change
it
on
the
storage
system
(as
described
in
“Changing
the
recovery
password)
and
enter
the new
password.

. If
any
error
messages
appear
,
click
OK
.

.
Log
in
as
you
normally
would.
The
message
Network
Boot
Mode
displays
on
the
screen
to
confirm
that
you
are
working
from
the
storage
system.
Caution:
You
can
open
and
change
files
while
remotely
booting,
and
even
create
new
files
or
folders.
However
,
only
the
data
that
existed
at
the
time
and
date
of
the
selected
backup
will
be
recovered.
If
you
wan
t
to
save
any
new
da
t
a
,
you
must
copy
the
files
or
folders
to
a
dif
f
erent
location
,
such
as
a
network
server
.

t
ar
t
DiskSafe
Express.
Caution:
While
booting
remotely
,
do
not
try
t
o
use
DiskSafe
Express
for
any operation
other
than
recovering
the
system
disk.

.
When
a
warning
message
displays,
advising
you
that
the
computer
name
has
changed,
click
OK
.
