Managing Your Storage
System
The
Web-based
storage
system
Manager
enables
you
perform
a
number
o
f t
asks
to
help
you
get
the
most
f
rom
your
storage
system:
l
Managing
users—Add
,
modify
,
or
remove
users;
put
users
into
groups;
or
change
the
authentication
mode.
l
Managing
shared
f
olders—Create
shared
folders,
rename
existing
shared
folders,
change
which
users
can
access
existing
shared
folders
or
t
heir
access
rights,
or
delete
shared
folders
that
you
no
longer
want
to
keep
.
l
Managing
backups—View
which
computer
disks
are
backed
up
,
change
t
he
password
for
recovering
a
backup,
specify
which
backup
to
remotely
boot
from,
or
delete
a
backup
or
backup
client.
l
Setting
up
e-mail
alerts—Specify
whether
or
not
e-mail
notifications
should
be
sent
when
a
problem
occurs,
and
who
should
receive
the
notifications.
l
Upgrading
the
firmware—Upgrade
your
storage
system
f
irmware
to
the
latest
version.
l
Disconnecting
USB
devices—If
you’re
using
optional
USB
devices,
you
must
disconnect
them
using

Manager
before
you
physically
unplug
them.

system

the
storage
system
name
or
time
and
date

the
user
name
or
password
for
logging
in
to
the
Manager

the
network
settings—Change
the
workgroup
name,
the
storage
system’s
IP
address,

gateway

DNS
server
settings,
or
the
settings

hat
allow
the
storage
system
to
act
as
a
DHCP
server
or
FTP
server
.

Reconfiguring
your
storage
system
disks—Change
the
proportions
o
f
your
storage
system
that
are
allocated
to
shared
folders
and
backups
,
or
change
your
disk
configuration.
l
Viewing
system
status
informa
t
ion—See
de
t
ails
about
CPU
and
memory
usage,
how
long
t
he
storage
system
has
been
running
,
disk
temperatures,
etc.

Logging
out
of
the
Manager—Log
ou
t
of
the
Manager
so
that
no
one
else
can
use

computer

the
storage
system
.

Manager
