Removing
protection
If
you
no
longer
want
to
back
up
a
particular
disk
or
partition
,
you
can
remove
pro
t
ection
as
long
as
a
recovery
is
no
t
currently
in
progress
for
tha
t
disk
or
partition.
(If
a
recovery
is
in
progress,
you
must
cancel
it
or
wait
until
it
completes
before
you
can
remove
protection.)
Note:
If
you
plan
to
delete
a
protected
partition
,
be
sure
to
remove
pro
t
ection
before
you
delete
that
partition.
Otherwise,
you
migh
t
no
t
be
able
to
protect
other
partitions
on
that
disk.
When
you
remove
protection
for
a
disk
for
which
remote
boot
is
enabled
,
remote
boot
will
be
disabled
and
your
compu
t
er
will
restart
.
When
you
remove
protection
,
you
will
no
longer
be
able
t
o
back
up
the
selected
disk
or
partition
either
automatically
or
manually
,
and
you
cannot
recover
data
using
DiskSafe
Express
(as
described
in
“Recovering
files
or
folders”
and “Recovering
a
da
t
a
disk”).
However
,
the
backups
that
currently
exist
on the
storage
system
are
retained
,
and
you
can
recover
them
using
the
recovery
CD
(as
described
in
“Recovering
a
system
disk
using
the
recovery
CD”).
If
you
subsequently
want
t
o
pro
t
ect
the
same
disk
or
partition
again,
you
can
re-use
the
existing
backups
.
You
can
also
delete
the
existing
backups
on
the
storage
system
to
free
up
space
for
backups
of
o
t
her
disks
or
partitions
,
either
f
or
this
compu
t
er
or
other
computers.
For
more

refer
to
“Deleting
a
backup”.
To
remove
protection:
1
.
In
the
Protected
disk
list
on
any
page,
select
the
disk
f
or
which
you
want
to
remove
protection
.

.
From
the
Action
menu,
click
Remove
Protection
.

.
When
the
confirmation
message
displays,
click
Yes
.
The
disk
disdisplays
from
the
Protected
disk
list.
If
another
disk
is
protected,
tha
t
disk
displays
in
the
Protected
di
sk
list,
and
information
about
that
disk
now
displays
in
t
he
application
window
. If
no
o
t
her
disk
is
protected,
click
OK
on
the
informa
t
ional
message;
the
Protected
disk
list
and
application
window
are
blank.
4
. If
remote
boot
was
enabled,
it
is
disabled.
When
prompted
,
click
OK
to
restart
your
compu
t
er
.
