Recovering a data disk
You can recover a da t a disk or partition only as long as DiskSafe Express is no t
installed on that disk or partition, the disk or partition is no t currently being backed up ,
and no backup view is open.
If you recover a partition and other partitions of tha t same disk are also protected,
pro
t ection for those other partitions temporarily stops until the selected partition is
recovered.
Once the recovery of any data disk or partition is complete, your compu t er restar t s
automatically
.
Caution: When you recover a da t a disk or par t ition, you will lose any data that
was written t o the disk after the time of the selected backup, as well as any
backups that were performed a f ter the backup you’re recovering. You might want
to copy any newer files that you wan t to keep to another disk before you recover
the
disk.
In addition, in rare cases (for example , if your data disk contains applica t ions like
anti-virus
programs that interact with the opera t ing system), if network errors
occur or the storage system shuts down during recovery , your operating system
might
become unstable , and you will have to recover it using the recovery CD (or
re-install the operating system if you did not pro t ect your system disk).
To recover a data disk or partition:
1. Click Restore .
2 . In the Protected disk list , select the disk or partition that you want to recover .
