Note: If the storage system time and Active Directory server time di ff er by
more than five minutes, an error message displays. You must adjus t the
storage
system time, time zone, or both t o ensure tha t they match (as
described
in “Changing t he system settings”).
Even if t he storage system and Active Directory server are in the same time
zone
and have the same time, errors might still occur if the Active Directory
server
adjusts for daylight savings ti me. In this case, you must change both
the
time zone and time on the storage system. For example, if the Active
Directory server time is 2:00 P . M. in the Cen t ral Time zone (GMT-06:00), you
would
se t the storage system time zone to Eastern Time (GMT-05:00) and
then se t the time t o match the Active Directory server (14:00). If you do this, do
not synchronize the storage system with an NTP server , as the time will be
readjusted based on the time zone .
12 . Select the organizational un it s tha t con t ain the users or groups tha t will be
allowed t o access the shared folders on the storage system , and then click
Next .
You must select a t leas t one organiza t ional unit. Selecting the forward slash
mark
(/) selects everyone in the tree.
Note: Your storage system supports only 128 users and 128 groups. If
the selected organizational unit exceeds these maximums, the excess users or
groups will not be added to t he storage system.
The Active Directory Adm i nistrator Logi n page displays.
13 . I n the User name text box, enter an administra t or user name for accessing t he
Active Directory server .
This account will be used to automatically con f igure the Active Directory server
to allow t he storage system to become a trusted member and communica t e
directly
with that server . It is used only when setting up this relationship.
14 . I n t he Password text box, enter the password associated with the specified user
name,
and then click Finish .
