ADAM 4100 Series User’s Manual
A.3 Address mode
The ADAM-4100 series not only has the original two status modes, but a
new friendly mode is also added. It is called the “address mode”. The
followings are the description for these three modes
Normal mode:
Once it is set to normal mode, the module will use the user defined settings
during operation. A power reset will not alter these settings.
Initial mode:
Once it is set to initial mode, the module will use its factory settings.
(Address 0 with data format 9600, N, 8, 1).
Note: If you need to change between Initial and Normal modes, the module
needs to be reset before the changes will take effect.
Address mode:
For address mode, turn the switch directly from normal to initial mode
without any power reset. The module will use the user defined settings during
operation, and the LEDs will show the node ID as the following diagram
below. These LEDs are common use for channel status and address mode.
Figure A-9 Address mode Function
It shows that the ID is 19(13h). In the past, we can only use the utility for
checking node ID. Now we can make use of the Address mode to help user
read the module address directly.
