Format a floppy disk?
Most disks come pre-formatted when you buy them,
however, there may be occasions where you will need to do
this manually, for example, when you want to erase the disk.
You can do this in Windows® XP by:
1. Insert the disk into the
floppy drive.
2. Open My Computer and
right-click the 3 1/2
Floppy (A) icon.
3. Select Format from the
menu.
4. Click Start to perform a
full format.
5. Tick Quick Format then
Start to quickly erase
any files on the disk.
