Definitions
W1 Basic antenna weight includes antenna drive unit, waveguide to feed, transmit reject
filter and standard LNB. It excludes antenna mounted transmit RF equipment and
transport/delivery frame.
W2 Single thread system includes W1 plus one 125W HPA and one upconverter. Note
that the exact weight will depend on the amplifier fitted.
W3 Fully redundant/phase combined system includes W1 plus two 125W HPA’s, one
compact redundant phase combiner, one upconverter protection switch and two
upconverters. Note that the exact weight will depend on the amplifier fitted.
W4 Fully redundant/phase combined system includes W1 plus two 400W HPA’s, one
compact redundant phase combiner, one upconverter protection switch and two
upconverters. Note that the exact weight will depend on the amplifier fitted.
Point C Defines the point at the centre of rotation of the azimuth interface at the base of the
antenna.
F1 The force that acts in a direction normal to the mechanical interface through point C.
F2 The force that acts in any direction in the plane of the mechanical interface through
point C.
M1 A moment that acts in the interface plane orthogonal to F1 and about point C.
M2 A moment that acts in all directions on a plane orthogonal to both F2 and the
interface plate.
