Description
This softkey (Option 002 only) lets you set the FM input to b e
AC-coupled. If you choose AC-coupled FM, you will b e mo dulating a
phase lo cked carrier. This is the specied synthesized op eration. You
must
mo dulate at a 100 kHz rate or greater. If not, the frequency
changes caused by the mo dulation are inside the phase lo cked lo op
bandwidth and the output will not b e linear FM. For mo dulation
frequencies b elow 100 kHz, choose DC-coupled FM.
An asterisk next to the key lab el indicates that AC FM coupling is
selected. This selection is the factory preset default.

Description
This softkey (Option 002 only) lets you set the FM input to b e
DC-coupled. Use DC coupling for mo dulation rates below 100 kHz.
In this mo de, the phase-lo cked lo op is de-activated. This means that
the swept signal generator is op erating as an op en lo op sweeper. The
swept signal generator will not be phase lo cked, and therefore, b e
aware that the phase noise and CW frequency accuracy specications
do not apply.
An asterisk next to the key lab el indicates that DC FM coupling is
selected. The factory preset default is AC coupling.
