GTA Furnace
The GTA furnace consists of an electrically heated graphite tube
located in a chamber with windows at each end. A toggle lever at the
front left allows you to open one end of the furnace to insert or
remove graphite tubes.
Water Supplies
During installation of your GTA, the Agilent field service engineer
will connect the water supply. The water pressure is set in
accordance with the specifications listed in Section 2.
A continuous supply of cooling water must be provided for the GTA
furnace. If there is insufficient water (for example, not enough
pressure, failure of the supply, the supply is turned off), an interlock
will prevent the atomizer system from operating. A fault message will
be displayed on the screen and a beeper will sound. The water supply
must be restored before the GTA can be restarted.
An automatic cutout will stop operation if the water temperature
exceeds the maximum temperature as specified in the ‘Water Supply’
section on Page 20.
NOTE
Ensure that the return path is not blocked or switched off.
