Non-Zeeman Electrode Replacement
NOTE
Make sure you remove the electrode on the right before removing the left
electrode.
The same procedure is relevant for the removal of both the left and right
electrodes, however the orientation of the two are reversed.
Powder free nitrile (or fabric) gloves should be used.
To replace the electrodes:
1 Open the furnace.
2 Put the adapter on the bolt, so the bolt head fits into the slot in
the adapter. This adapter will protect the electrode during
installation.
3 Being careful not to damage the electrode, place the electrode
over the bolt thread, thinner end first, until it sits in the adapter.
4 While holding the bolt and adapter onto the electrode, position
the electrode against the inner side of the electrode housing.
NOTE
Ensure the electrode is straight, so that it goes into the housing aligned.
