Inserting a Graphite Tube
To insert a graphite tube:
1 If you are using a Zeeman graphite furnace, tilt the furnace
assembly forward to access the top of the furnace.
NOTE
Some operators may find it easier to tilt the furnace when inserting a graphite
tube. However it is possible to carry out this procedure without tilting the
furnace. If you are going to tilt the furnace, the PSD must first be removed.
2 Open the furnace and insert the graphite tube into the furnace
taking care to ensure the injection hole is on top.
NOTE
Handle graphite tubes with care and only in a clean working environment.
