RoughAdjustment
The rough adjustment can be done “by eye” using binoculars rested against the antenna. If the
visibilityisbad,ordistanceistoolong,youneedtodeterminetheazimuthfirstusingacompass.
Caution! Compass measurement accuracy is limited by steel mast construction! The rough pointing
shouldhaveavariation
ofmax.±5°fromtheidealantennaconnectingline.
We are trying to attain a signal of the opposite station by horizontalturning of the antenna by ±30°
from assumed direction. The vertical setting is changed gradually, and the scanning in the direction of
receptionisdonebyhorizontalturning.
