ways:
Local session
Remote Telnet session
Remote Secure Shell (SSH) session
Remote web browser (HTTP or HTTPS) session
Remote SNMP session
Local
Management
Sessions
To establish a local management session, you connect a terminal or a PC
with a terminal emulator program to the Terminal Port on the front panel of
the stand-alone switch or the master switch of a stack. This type of
management session, which uses the management cable included with
the unit, must be performed at the switch, hence the name “local.”
A switch or stack does not require an Internet Protocol (IP) configuration
for local management.
Here are the management interfaces that are available to you from this
type of management session:
Standard command line
AlliedWare Plus command line
Menus
You can change between the interfaces during your management
sessions.
Note
In most cases, the initial management session of a switch must be a
local management session.
Remote Telnet
Sessions
The AT-S63 Management Software comes with a Telnet server for remote
management of the unit from Telnet clients on your network. You can use
these management interfaces from remote Telnet management sessions:
Standard command line
AlliedWare Plus command line
