4.4 How to use the remote control
For further information about the remote control also see 3.3
4.4.1 General
The FMA03 is provided with an infrared remote control and is matched for the according
FMA03. For using the remote control you need a battery (9V block). Every signal of the
remote control is confirmed by a ‘beep’ of the signalling unit. In case the FMA03 does not
react on these signals you must change the battery. Before changing the battery however
make sure, that the remote control is switched on (switch <72>) and assigned to your
device (see 4.2.5)
Please note that the remote control will only work properly, if there are no obstacles
between the transmitter <73> and the receivers in the signalling unit.
Alternatively the remote control can directly be connected with the enclosed cable at the
input <87> of the FMA03. The reception of remote signals possibly interrupted (see function
F06 in 4.3.2). Through this method a disturbance of the FMA03 by any infrared signals can
be avoided.
Important note:
Before you connect the remote control directly to the FMA03 by means of the cable, always
turn off the FMA03. Otherwise a system crash may occur.
4.4.2 Changing the battery of the remote control
In case the power of the battery abates, first of all the working distance of the remote
control sinks and finally there will be no function. As soon as a remarkable detracting of the
working distance can be recognized the battery of the remote control has to be exchanged.
Unlock and lift battery compartment on the reverse.
Exchange old battery by a new 9V-block-battery.
The use of rechargeable accumulators cannot be recommended.
4.4.3 Assigning a remote control to the FMA03
See above 4.2.5
4.5 Retrieving and displaying logged information
The FMA03 is equipped with an advanced logging feature. At each stop of the chronometer
the following information is saved (logged) in the memory of the FMA03: time, score, match
number and warning cards. The status of this information at the last 5 stops is logged. In
case of an operating error (e.g. resetting the time and/or score accidentally), you can
retrieve this information and display it again on the FMA03. To retrieve and display logged
information please proceed as follows:
With the chronometer stopped press <Fn> and <SCORE RESET> on the remote control
(keep <60>pressed and press <59> once)
The FMA03 will now show the information logged at the last stop of the chronometer
Pressing <Fn> + <59> again will display the information logged at the second-last stop
of the chronometer and so on up to a maximum of five logged statuses.
If the information of the 5th-last chronometer stop has been displayed, a further pressing
of <Fn> + <59> will display again the information of the last chronometer stop and so on.
4.6 Setting the chronometer to the second
It might happen, that the referee has to adjust or correct the remaining time of the bout
manually (e.g. chronometer stopped to late by helper). To set the chronometer of the
FMA03 to the second, proceed as follows.
With the chronometer stopped, activate the “SET TIME TO THE SECOND” mode by
pressing <Fn>+<SET TIME> (<60>+<21>). The chronometer display <5> will start
blinking.
Use the left-sided “Score Up” <51> and “Score Down” <52> buttons to change the
minutes to the desired value.
