1 Introduction
The FMA03 is a complete fencing system, which combines in one apparatus a three weapon
signalling unit, a scoring indicator and spectator lights. All functions can be operated directly by the
referee by means of a remote control. The FMA03 is equipped with a ultra-bright LED-Display
The FMA03 possesses some innovative performance characteristics:
Re-set of the remaining time on the second ( e. g. after operating error)
Save of the last score with time and the possibility, to recall it with the remote control
(required after operating error or false reset )
Special mode to connect wireless fencing system “Wireless 2000”
Updates and upgrades by software without changing the chip (by USB-connector)
Intelligent repetition lights (FMA21-HL): When fencing on one piste and with one signalling
unit the repetition lights show the signals of the unit on the front and the back side. When
fencing on two pistes with 2 units the repetition lights show the signals of one unit on the
front side and the signals of the second unit on the back side.
Wear-free lights (no bulbs) therefore no bulb change required
Right-to-left reverse is possible without changing the lamps (this is required when using a
second slave-unit on the back side)
Ready for later use of NFC remote control.
Programmable: Duration of acoustical and optical signals, brightness, protocols etc can
easily be set to your desire.
Power supply with 12 V. External medical power supply for 110 – 240V.
Remote control via infrared, cable (up to 80m) or NFC (coming up later)
Up to 3 power sources (battery, UPS, …) can be used at the same time.
Can be operated with both, FMA02 and FMA21 peripherals.
2 Performance Features
The FMA03 combines all necessary fencing and scoring functions in one compact device. In detail
the FMA03 has the following modules:
2.1 Signalling Unit
The FMA03 is based on the microprocessor controlled signalling unit for all three weapons
from allstar. Changes of the F.I.E regulations can be implemented easily by a simple
software update via USB
2.2 Fencing-Chronometer
The Count-Down-Chronometer of the FMA03, which can be programmed to the minute,
has a well readable LED display. At option the fencing chronometer can also be
programmed in the way that a hit stops the chronometer automatically. After the
programmed time the chronometer blocks the signalling unit so that no other hits can be
shown. To release this blockage the RESET -key <23> on the remote control has to be
pressed down.
2.3 Indication Of Match Number And Score
The score indication can show 45:45 hits by means of a LED display. It is completed by a
display that shows the number of the match during a team event and therefore is informing
the spectators in the best possible way. Especially the ‘change button’ <58> on the remote
control is very practical. It allows to change the score easily when teams change sides.
2.4 Remote Control
The FMA03 comes with a remote control for all functions. You may choose the standard
infrared remote control. In case of interfering influences or attempts of manipulation the
remote control can easily be connected to the FMA03 directly by means of a cable.
