STANDARD FEATURES
Temperature Alarm Relay
The Series 800 / 850 TEC Controllers are equipped with a temperature alarm relay,
configurable by the user as a high alarm, low alarm, or both a high and low alarm.
This capability is important when the user needs to insure that the temperature of the
TEC being controlled does not exceed specific limits. Section 5.0 provides details on
setting the alarms.
Soft Start
The Series 800 / 850 TEC Controllers are equipped with soft start so that upon
power-up, potentially dangerous current spikes that could be delivered to the TEC are
eliminated.
SERIAL COMMUNICATIONS OPTIONS
The Series 800 / 850 TEC Controllers can be equipped with optional EIA/RS-232 or
EIA/RS-485 Serial Communications utilizing the MODBUS protocol.
GPIB INTERFACE OPTION (SERIES 850 CONTROLLER ONLY)
The Series 850 TEC Controller can be equipped with an optional General Purpose
Interface Bus (GPIB) interface in accordance with the IEEE-488-2 specification.
Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) are also supported.
TECVIEW SOFTWARE OPTION
When a user chooses one of the available serial communications options, the user can
purchase Alpha Omega Instrument’s proprietary TECView software that is compatible
with most Microsoft
®
Windows
®
operating systems. TECView provides a user-friendly
graphical interface for remote operation of the Series 800 / 850 TEC Controllers via a
personal computer (PC). Date storage, formatting for use with spreadsheet programs,
etc., can be easily done from a PC using TECView.
