SERIES 800/850 TEC CONTROLLER CONNECTIONS
The following section explains the hardware connections on the Series 800/850
temperature controllers.

REAR PANEL ITEM DESCRIPTIONS
Heat Sink
Do not block the flow of air coming out of the holes in the heat sink on the
rear of the controller.
ç High temperatures may result from poor load
matching or a short on the output while calling for
full output. Be careful not to hold the fins on the
heat sink too long in these situations.
There are two heat sinks on the rack mounted controllers if the power of
the instrument exceeds 150 Watts.
Control I/O
Located on the rear of all controllers and Power Booster Modules (PBM) are two
six conductor RJ-11 connectors. Use the “CTRL OUT” connector to control the
“CTRL IN” of a PBM.

When using a PBM, the connecting cable will be supplied
EIA/RS-232/-485
Use this connector to access additional options such as EIA/RS-232 or
EIA/RS-485 communications. Please refer to Appendix J, Technical
Information, for wiring details.

At this time the main controller does not support the “CTRL-IN” connector. This is for future use and should not be used.
