MAIN MENU DEFAULTS
1
The Series 800/850 TEC Controllers are shipped from the factory with a
pre-programmed Main Menu (see Appendix E, Front Panel Controls for details). This
menu places certain commonly used parameters in the Main Menu of the controller.
These defaults are as follows:
1. Percent Current.....................................[pcnt]
2. Proportional Term 1.................................[pb`1]
3. Integral Term 1..................................... [It`1]
4. Derivative Term 1...................................[de`1]
5. Proportional Term 2.................................[pb`2]
6. Integral Term 2..................................... [It`2]
7. Derivative Term 2...................................[de`2]
8. Auto Tune......................................... [`aut]
9. Auto Tune Limit 1...................................[atl1]
10. Auto Tune Limit 2...................................[atl2]
11. Current Limit Set Point.............................. [Ilsp]
12. Current Limit Above.................................[Il`a]
13. Current Limit Below................................. [Il`b]
14. Alarm 3 Low Temperature Alarm......................[a3lo]
15. Alarm 3 High Temperature Alarm..................... [a3hi]
16. Auto / Manual Operation Mode....................... [a-m]
OPERATION
Accessing these parameters is easy. Simply press the button to rotate through.
Use the ¿ and ¯ arrow buttons to change the parameters (if applicable). At any
time, pressing the ˆ button, returns to the “Home” position which displays the Actual
temperature and the process temperature.
All the necessary parameters for proper control are accessible from this “Main Menu”.
Example: To perform an Auto Tune

you would perform the following steps:
1. Press ˆ then press eight times in a row. You should see [`aut] in the bottom
display.
2. Press the ¿ or ¯ buttons until [tune] is shown in the top display. This option
will perform an auto tune on both channels (i.e. Heat and Cool outputs) when
selected. You can also optionally choose to tune only the [pid1] or [pid2]
parameters. This will tune only the Cool or Heat outputs respectively.
3. Press the ˆ or the button until the display returns to the “Home” position. This
will start the Auto Tune process.
Note: The Auto Tune will start automatically after 3 seconds if the setting is not
turned OFF after being turned to “Auto”, “Pid1”, or “Pid2”.
